Introduction

My name is Yury Akinin. I am the CEO of the IT company Digex Co., a visionary in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, and the founder of the AI startup MozgII. I specialize in bridging the gap between business and technology, creating unique concepts and reshaping the landscape of IT and business industries.

My Mission

My mission is to make technology and artificial intelligence accessible and useful for people, helping businesses grow and creating ecosystems where technology benefits society.

As I like to say about AI: “The genie is out of the bottle, and it is now up to us to make sure that the wishes it grants are good ones.”

Participation in Businesses and Projects

  • Digex Co.: In 2021, I founded Digex Co., a company that delivers cutting-edge solutions in FinTech, Pharma, and e-commerce, specializing in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, outsourcing, and outstaffing IT services.
  • MozgII: In 2023, I launched a startup creating AI assistants to automate tasks, enhance employee productivity, and improve knowledge accessibility within companies.
  • Digex Market: In 2022, I started a platform that allows businesses to launch stores in messengers like Telegram in just minutes. The service provides an intuitive interface for managing products and services.
  • Quantori: In 2018, as a co-founder and Vice President, I grew the company from zero to 700 employees specializing in data analysis and IT solutions for pharmaceutical companies.
  • Sbermarket: In 2014, I initiated the Instamart project, developing a mobile application within Binwell. We led the project until the company was sold to Sberbank and rebranded as Sbermarket.

Personal Story

My journey into technology began in childhood when I explored and disassembled household devices with a soldering iron in hand. In school, I developed a passion for physics, chemistry, and mathematics, which provided me with a strong foundation for engineering thinking. Later, in a math-focused class, I spent more time on computers, learning the basics of programming. In high school, my friends and I even created our own “internet provider,” connecting neighbors via cables stretched across balconies into a local network.

After high school, I pursued a degree in computer science at university. In 2008, I earned my Master’s degree and continued in postgraduate studies, focusing on developing complex systems. During university, I realized that engineering is not only a science but also an art that can transform the world.

My professional career began in 2006 as a technician at a research institute, where I assisted in developing hardware and software systems. In 2007, I joined Siemens, developing software for telecommunications and updating Deutsche Telekom’s legacy network accounting systems with new functionality.

In 2009, I became passionate about mobile technologies and participated in side projects like ipaqchoice, which helped me hone my development skills. In 2011, I co-founded GEEKY Corp, a product company focused on mobile app development, which helped me gain essential product development experience.

In 2014, I founded Binwell Ltd., focusing on custom mobile application development for corporate clients, including banks, insurance companies, and other major organizations. At the same time, we initiated the Instamart project within the company, which later transformed into Sbermarket. At that stage, the project aimed to create an app similar to its U.S. counterpart, Instacart.

In 2015, I moved to Saint Petersburg and joined EPAM Systems as a Senior Delivery Manager, quickly rising to the position of Director of Program Management. Over three years, I transformed processes, expanded the office by more than 2,000 employees to a total of 3,500 engineers, and focused on staffing and building high-performing teams.

In 2018, I co-founded Quantori, a company specializing in pharmaceutical innovations. My experience involved working with drug development processes, from molecule discovery to FDA approval. In 2019, I moved to Moscow, continuing to grow this company by combining my engineering expertise with entrepreneurial skills.

In 2021, I founded Digex Co., carving out part of the business from the mobile studio Binwell. The company focused on cutting-edge technological solutions, helping businesses automate processes and increase efficiency. Today, I am also developing startups such as Digex Market and MozgII.

Although my current work revolves around managing businesses, I have retained my passion for engineering and technology. I maintain a small personal laboratory where I create industrial robots, write firmware for controllers, deploy services on servers and in the cloud, and explore cryptocurrencies and mining, investigating their potential for new technological solutions. My life is a blend of working with technology and managing projects that deliver tangible value to businesses and people, creating effective solutions for modern challenges.
