Last Thursday, I attended TgConf, a key conference focused on traffic, monetization, and the future of the Telegram ecosystem. As I continue to develop my own channel, I’m constantly looking for new opportunities for integration and growth. The sessions covered advertising, the development of applications, and the strategic direction of the platform.

Here are my main insights from the event:

The Path to a Super App

The most significant takeaway is that Telegram is steadily moving toward becoming a comprehensive ecosystem, following the model of China’s WeChat. The platform’s ambition is to evolve beyond a messenger into an all-in-one environment for communication, business, and services.

An App Store is on the Horizon

Confirming this direction, there was significant discussion about Telegram’s work on its own application marketplace. This would function much like the Apple App Store or Google Play, allowing developers to build and distribute products directly within the messenger. For founders and businesses, this opens a new, integrated channel for user acquisition and service delivery.

Targeted Advertising is Maturing

The native advertising tools within Telegram are actively developing. This is a critical step for monetization, offering businesses a more direct and measurable way to drive sales and reach specific user segments. It’s a clear signal that the platform is serious about providing robust B2B tools.

For entrepreneurs and developers, the trajectory is clear. Telegram is building the infrastructure to become a dominant platform for business, and the opportunities are only just beginning to surface.
